I need to work, but im not sure how to find a job that can accommodate my needs due to illness/injury/pain.
My answerThis is a problem that a lot of our patients face. Whether it's required time off for doctors appointments, special seating arrangements or limiting physical work, many of them have limitations/accomodations that need to be met in order to successfully work and remain gainfully employed.
While workplaces are required to meet accommodation requests that are "reasonable and necessary" this is not always as easy as it sounds and sometimes can be daunting to bring up early in the interview process.
However, there are several websites that are aimed directly at matching candidates with jobs that ARE accommodating and do not shy away from hiring candidates with disabilities/ different needs.
Websites are linked below but remember it is still important to do your own research - as many of these sites allow any employers to sign up with limited oversight. Always verify ability to accommodate your needs before accepting a position or even applying!
